Treetops Salford
A challenging back land site. The brief was to design a contemporary house in the back garden of an existing dwelling and when finished our clients would move from their long standing residence into the new build.
The challenges included access issues, overlooking concerns onto neighbouring properties and gardens, planners concerns about colours proposed, and the irregular sided garden that resulted in a three pronged elevation. The use of top light was required to mitigate the overlooking issues whilst maintaining a good quality of natural light. Solar panels are placed hidden on the top roof and green roofs are proposed on the lower decks.
Space flows from the kitchen to the living room in one continuous living area with a light well to the upper floor corridors. The result is a bright airy interior and the inspiration was DeStjl which our clients were very happy to embrace.
