Printworks
PRINTWORKS Atelier Heritage were approached to act as Heritage Consultants for refinements to a proposed scheme, and to provide a heritage statement, for refurbishment works to the well-recognised Printworks, Manchester. The building is unlisted but identified as a ‘non-designated heritage asset’ and sits on a prominent corner site adjacent to the historic core Conservation Area in the city centre.
Working closely with the client and their design team, we were able to achieve a rationalised scheme which better reveals the elevations of this vast former newspaper works, and includes improvements to entrances, the decluttering of facades and a comprehensive new advertising scheme. The proposed £9 million investment aims to ensure the property remains an attractive leisure destination.
