NEWTON STREET
08–16 Newton Street is a substantial red‑brick Manchester warehouse dating from nineteenth‑century, positioned at the lively intersection of Piccadilly and the Northern Quarter. Drawing on our combined expertise in architecture and heritage, we worked collaboratively with the client, planners, consultants and contractors to realise a carefully considered and transformative scheme.
Four floors of semi-derelict, under-utilised space have been re-born as a distinctive high quality, multi-tenanted office building. The revitalised accommodation is supported by modern amenities including an on‑site gym, wellness suite, outdoor terrace and fully accessible commercial units, adding comfort and flexibility whilst respecting the Grade II listed building’s distinctive identity.
As the project nears completion, lost and concealed historic features have been carefully uncovered and repaired. Sensitive new interventions sit alongside evidence of the building’s former life, and this once redundant warehouse now has a renewed presence and purpose. The building is buzzing with life again and we love the result so much we decided to make it Atelier MB’s new home!
This is the Manchester warehouse reborn: heritage-led design creating space with a true sense of place.
Due for completion in 2026.
