This small but perfectly formed half-timbered former merchant’s house in the heart of Tudor Nantwich needed a significant package of repairs. Working with specialist contractors, Atelier MB ensured extensive structural and envelope works were completed to the highest conservation standards, including the replacement of rotten oak members and reinstatement of daub and lime rendered panels. This project involved detailed research into historic building techniques and materials. The result is a skilful restoration and re-use project with careful attention to detail, traditional building craft, bringing new life to an old building. A regional finalist for the 2025 Civic Trust awards in the conservation category.
