86 PRINCESS STREET
Formerly known as Manchester House, 86 Princess Street is part of the old Refuge Assurance Company Estate, which forms the most impressive group of Edwardian warehousing in the city.
Atelier MB gained a unique insight into the history of this listed trade warehouse through extensive in-house research, enabling us to uncover its secrets and justify informed repair work alongside clever and sensitive new interventions.
With 6 stories above a basement and sub-basement, c.54,000 sq ft of useable city centre office space has now been brought back into use with original features exposed and a brand-new modern circulation core and contemporary services added. It is once more a viable commercial offering, successfully attracting tenants from the creative sectors who can enjoy a newly added rooftop garden and uniquely crafted workspace.
