86 Princess Street, Manchester

86 Princess Street, formally Manchester House, is a Grade II listed commercial office building in the City Centre of Manchester. Designed by Birkett, as a speculative office and warehouse building for the Refuge Assurance Company, the building was one of a group which includes neighbouring Asia House.

In common with other listed buildings, Atelier MB have gained a unique insight into the history of the building through extensive in-house research. This enables us to justify works to the building in a meaningful historic context.

The building is 6 stories above a basement and sub-basement, making c.5000m2 of useable office space.

This iconic listed building is now restored with all its original features exposed, a brand new modern circulation core and contemporary  services, it is now a viable commercial offering again and has attracted many tenants from the creative sectors, helped by the addition of the rooftop garden.
