Sunlight House

Joseph Sunlight’s vision of an early Manchester skyscraper, Sunlight House never reached the scale originally proposed, but is nonetheless  a key feature on the city’s skyline.

Once the height of innovative speculative office development, the building presented numerous challenges for modern office use. Closer inspection revealed the elevations had been subject to later alteration, giving an opportunity to create a new entrance.

We worked successfully with the design team and planning officers to produce a refurbishment which retains the character of the original building with identifiable contemporary interventions, renewing it for the 21st century and safeguarding the future of this historical high rise.
