The restoration of a number of historic shopfronts in the historic core of Prescot. This grant funded project is part of the Heritage Townscape Initiative (THI) and is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF).

 

Over time the original historic nature of the shopfronts has been lost due to inappropriate signage, poor window replacement and external additions. This has contributed to the degradation of the main street, Eccleston Road, and accelerated an ever spiralling downgrading of the quality of the local environment.

 

Our works restored a number of original details; helping to improve the streetscape, and reducing visual clutter. The restoration of the historic shop fronts is seen as a positive contribution to both the Conservation Area and the wider regeneration of the town centre.
